On Sunday December 4th, Summit held its annual Christmas Celebration.  It was a magical night for the kids as well as the adults.  Detective Mike Freeman of Summit Police was invited to speak to the children about Safety, the kids were very attentive and had a lot of questions for Detective Mike!   Afterwards, Lois Pagano, NJ State Chairperson of Elks National Foundation presented him with a Grant of $2,000 to the PBA for protective vests, to help protect those who protect us!  Santa's helper Tyler read Elf on the Shelf; the Elf happened to be found by the kids perched in the Christmas tree

Attorney General recently declared September 19 - 23, 2016 as National Heroin and Opioid Awareness Week

The Attorney General recently declared next week (September 19 - 23, 2016) as National Heroin and Opioid Awareness Week. DOJ leadership will be doing a number of events to draw attention to both the Department's efforts to tackle this epidemic, and the need for the public to be involved with law enforcement, prevention, and treatment.


Applications for ENF Scholarships open September 1st: Most Valuable Student - open to all High School Seniors, Legacy - open to members children and grandchildren and Emergency Educational Grants - open to all children of deceased or disabled Elks (deadline for this one is October 31st).  They all must meet the requirements listed for each criteria.  For more information and to apply please go to  To donate to ENF please also go to the ENF site.  The more you give, the more ENF gives back!


On Saturday August 14th,  volunteers from Summit Lodge went up to Camp Moore for the East Central District's annual Picnic, where all have a chance to tour the camp, speak to the staff and enjoy watching the smiles on the kids faces.   If you have not yet been up to the Camp, please go just once; you will come back with joy in your hearts! This Camp is owned by the State of New Jersey Elks Association and is it's pride and joy!   For more information of Elks Camp Moore please visit website.
