It is a great honor for me to serve as your new Exalted Ruler and to follow in the footsteps of Mike Williams and all the previous Exalted Rulers. I am pleased to report our membership has swelled to over 1,850, and construction of the Rooftop Project is well underway.
As required by the Lodge’s By-Laws, the Trustees presented their Segregated Budgets for April 1, 2018 – March 31, 2019 to the members at the April 18, 2018 Lodge Meeting. These Budgets were approved unanimously. If you’d like to have a copy of the Budgets, and/or the Lodge’s By-Laws and Rules of the Order, please let me or Lodge Secretary Lois Pagano know.
Our Rooftop Project will allow us to better serve our members and the greater Summit, New Providence and Chatham communities. We have raised funds with a mortgage from Investors Bank and member contributions to get started and reach substantial completion; however, as stated in our budget, we require additional funds to fully furnish and fit out the project (which does not include renovation of the existing bar and ballroom).
I urge every member to contribute what they can. For the well over 150 members who have generously contributed: Thank You So Much!
Rooftop Funding Campaign
100% Member Participation is the Goal.
Contributions for the Rooftop Project can be made online or by check payable to Summit Elks Lodge 1246
Please make your donation on or before Flag Day, June 14th.
In closing, please consider joining one of the Lodge’s 12 Committees. These Committees provide assistance and support to our Veterans, Special Children, and Youth (Scholarships, Drug Awareness, Hoop Shoot…). These Committees promote Americanism and Patriotism and support the ongoing operations of the Lodge. Please let me or one of the Officers, Trustees, and/or Committee Chairmen know if you are interested; and please refer to the Lodge’s website at this link for more information.
I am looking forward to an exciting year at Summit Elks Lodge 1246!
Bonny Peacock, Exalted Ruler
