How drug manufacturers "persuaded" Congress to pass a law reducing the restrictions on the drug manufacturers to track large scale sales of Oxycontin. Of course the Congressman sponsoring the bill received large contributions from the drug manufacturers. Nestled up in Pompton, NJ is NJSEA's Camp Moore. Summit's annual Charity Ball raises money each year to send a number of special kids for a week, or special adults for a weekend and also helps pay for the upkeep and new additions such as the new sprinkler park at this wonderful Camp.
The staff is amazing!!! Come up and see first hand what the Camp is all about. The next picnic is August 14th. Volunteer to help serve the kids and take a tour of the Camp....See what all the smiles are about! Ask our good friend Gracie, she will tell you!
The Summit Elks Lodge wings contest to benefit Sean Culleton was a huge success. A rollicking good time was had by all. And it was all for a good cause; to help a brother Elk in his time of need.

Our local Lodge is a vibrant organization serving Summit and the surrounding community. We support several charitable endevours especially those of children with special needs, veterans and our local youth.
We are still collecting for Veterans at Valley Brook Village and Hope for Veterans at the Lyons VA campus. Please continue to bring up clothing and non-perishable food to donate to them. There are over 8,000 homeless veterans in the State of New Jersey and Valley Brook Village is helping by supplying a roof over their heads, assistance with finding jobs, and giving them the help they need to get back on their feet.
Thank you!
Louis DeSocio, Summit Elks Veterans Chairman.
